Why template instead of library?

Nov 15, 2011 at 10:37 AM

Hi,

I am new to P7 development. The social viewer template is awesome.

Just curious why it was implemented as a template instead of a library?

Hi there,

It was implemented as a template so that you can easily modify the application structure if you so desire – a library implies that it exposes a fixed set of apis. The next version (and yes, there is a next version coming I promise) will actually drop the SocialReader dll in favour of having more of the source code available in the template to be modified.

@nickrandolph, Do you know when you might be releasing the new version?

It would be a cool Christmas present :)

I just added support for a number of social networks. There is a bit more restructuring to go but I should have an update out this week.
